Celest (A.S.O.M) Ex-Student gets married....

Celesto Luis is an ex-student of A.S.O.M who has supported the School at every step.

When he came to invite us for his Wedding and later requested that we form a School-Band to perform at the reception...we agreed! James...our guitar student was one of 3 best-men.

So 2 Days before the Wedding, rehearsals were held with Brendon (Electronic-drums), Rui (Director of G.C.M(Classical-Guitar) , Mukesh (composer/arranger)(keys) and Daniel (bass/lead vocals) (Sound Technician on Cruise-Liner)and I on (lead-guitars and vox)
On the 17th of Feb 2009...we loaded the equipment in a Rickshaw and a Jeep and proceeded to 'Casa de Povo' hall at GOA VELHA. Others came with their own transport.
Sound Man Filipe was ready with a pair of Front-Lows and full-range+Hiz. We just routed the mixer and crossover a little differently...Lows was routed through Lowz of XoVER and the tops were full-range..controlled by the PANPOT on the mixer....each instrument could be sweeped from highz freq to lowz...or be in the center and enjoy both!!!! Some connection.....anyways...it turned to be a good setting after we took the headphone -jack-out in mono from the DDRUMS..
The power-amps surprisingly had enough juice in them to thump the audience on their backs...while the overheard attic rattled...guess the bridge -switch on the rear gave the boost that was much required....
Initially we had decided to play the 1st, 2nd and last set...but we threw in a jive version of LABAMBA preceded by an uptempo Dulpod medley which must have been pushing the metronome at over 140 B.P.M!!
People danced and even cheered for our music....some asked for more after the breaks....we tried to oblige....and there was a DJ for the middle set....but most of the guests were seated in the open area....and must have been thinking that if they get up to dance...their tables and chairs would be occupied by others...
It was a huge crowd and there are no complains so far regarding the music ...so the band has to be congratulated.....Domnic...drummer of the band X4 played the last set with us and MELVIN drum student played the end of the 3rd set.

This was the order of the songs:

*Half-way towards the song...the electricity tripped as the Video-man clicked on the 1000 Watt Halogen Lamp and Celest boldly started the song again...calmly...I announce jokingly that that was just a rehearsal and now was the real attempt..
Good lesson in Stage-Craft...

5.Mogan asun Borem (on request)
6. Reggae style with dulpod finale (he's a jolly good fellow)

One thing we had forgotten to do ...that was to name the Band...Rui Lobo is good at creating Names...so he said "Now or Never"
and that was it....

"Its now or Never----the Band!"
